About the Founder

FoodRoot was founded by Shaneika Ong, Shan Ong for short, a graduate of the Singapore College of Traditional Medicine specializing in Chinese Medicated Food Therapy.

Fueled by a passion for holistic healthcare and a firm belief in the transformative power of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) food therapy, Shan envisioned a world where people can take control of their well-being by embracing the principles of TCM. With this vision in mind, FoodRoot was born. 

By incorporating TCM food therapy principles into their daily lives, she believes individuals can proactively nurture their well-being, leading to a better and healthier life. Through FoodRoot, Shan seeks to make TCM food therapy accessible and practical for everyone. By providing compelling content, guidance, and resources, Shan aims to demystify TCM food therapy and enable individuals to integrate its principles into their daily routines seamlessly.

FoodRoot currently remains Shan's passion project, to provide practical resources for individuals interested in learning how to heal through food therapy based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Despite juggling her full-time work commitments, she is open to collaborating with anyone sharing the same passion and vision.
